Xcel print and promotions invests in the market leading direct to garment (dtg) printers. As a small to medium business supplier we felt the need to invest in the newest technology for our target market. With this new machine we hope to descrease turnaround times and increase quality with market leading 1440 x 1440 dpi graphics.

So what is DTG.

Direct to garment printing, also known as DTG printing, digital garment printing and inkjet to garment printing, is a process of printing on textiles and garments using specialized or modified inkjet technology. The two key requirements of a DTG printer are a transport mechanism for the garment and specialty inks (inkjet textile inks) that are applied to the textile directly and are absorbed by the fibers. Most direct to garment printers are manufactured from pre-existing Epson inkjet printers, with exceptions where DTG printers have been built using lower-resolution industrial inkjet print heads like those found in large-format printers used to print signs and banners. Some inkjet technology manufacturers like Konicaminolta offer products designed for direct textile printing, providing heads, printers and inks. Direct to garment printers boast the largest print area and lowest ink cost of any tabletop inkjet to garment printer.

The majority of DTG printers are driven from a computer by the use of software known as a RIP (Raster Image Processor). The RIP software allows the printer to print with larger volumes of ink, generate white ink underbases for dark shirts and also provides for more precision color management through color profiles. More advanced RIP software allows for driving multiple printers from one computer, advanced job queuing, ink cost calculation as well as a real time preview of the file prior to printing.

Eco-friendly printing

Direct to garment printing has become popular because it is almost 100% eco-friendly.^[2] While screen printing and other methods often use synthetic plastisol-based inks, DTG printers use environmentally-friendly, water-based inks, with the exception of certain mild solvent based and discharge inks used on a small percentage of printers.

Job Description: Design, print and apply vinyl graphics to cars, vans, signs, banners etc. To work with and communicate with customers from design to application.

Apprenticeship timescale: 2 years

Hours: 40hours per week

2. Job: Customer services/sales

Job Description: To take enquiries via phone or email and work with customers directly. Being well organized is a must.

Apprenticeship timescale: 1-2 years

Hours: 40hours per week

Combat paintball welcomed team Xcel for a fun filled day at Combat Paintball Ltd. Combat Paintball Ltd is a Paintball site located in the Heart of East Anglia on A11 between Norfolk and Suffolk. Using the Idylic Surroundings of Thetford Forest Combat Paintball is the only Paintball site in Thetford (Beware of others who claim to be!)

Combat Paintball Ltd is an outdoor sport where you or your team shoot the opposition with special paint pellets using the latest semi-automatic guns. You will find yourself in situations where individual cunning and great teamwork will allow you to complete the task with a heart pumping thrill that is hard to beat!

We would like to say we all had a fantastic day and a big thank you for everything, cant wait until next time when we have 20 or 30 of us!!.
